Psychiatric hospitals and behavioral healthcare units in hospitals are being threatened with severe adverse actions due to perceived flaws in construction that fail to meet the ligature resistance expectations. Even though this has been a focus of The Joint Commission for over a year, the challenge continues. Surveyors are asked to apply their judgment to the details of construction and it is not unusual to find differences of opinion between the hospital and the survey agency.
What's included in this Premium Learning session?
Greeley has developed a comprehensive and successful approach to dealing with the creation and maintenance of a ligature resistant environment. In this session of the session of the 'Simplify and Comply' premium learning series, you will learn about how to become bulletproof during survey through the use of a comprehensive ligature assessment and reassessment tool. The tool, which can be used as a spreadsheet separately or posted online, is designed to comply with CMS and The Joint Commission's expectations.
This learning session is designed for hospitals with behavioral health units and freestanding psychiatric hospitals.
